Triple Self
Beiruti
Every mirror sees a different face, yet its memory is an empty room. They say the mirrors in Beirut see things differently.
I wish I had been born in Beirut, to look for myself in the mirrors there...
I wish I had been born in Beirut, to look for myself in the mirrors there...
Icarus (A Feather Against the Sun)
After the metaphor for daring beyond limits.
The Emperor's New Clothes
The series is not a direct photo adaptation of Andersen's folktale. It is about reflecting the blindness we create, hiding behind appearances. No matter how confident we seem, most of us are still fragile underneath, wearing a paper-thin skin and soul...
Birdman
Inspired by the movie with the same title by Alejandro Gonzàlez Iñàrritu and the track "The Anxious Battle for Sanity" by Antonio Sanchez.
Ulysses (metempsychosis in three steps)
After the book Ulysses, written by James Joyce and his concept of "methempsychosis" as a metaphor for transformation and soul migration across stories and time.
Self with Lilium Bulbiferum
This series is dedicated to my beloved aunt Gulshen, who passed away suddenly, leaving me to navigate a deep and painful grief. The scarf with the flower motives on it is the the only personal belonging of hers that I have. It has become a symbol of our bond - a fragile thread connecting where I am with where she is now.
Gloomy Sunday
After the song with the same name by Billie Holiday.
