Time Feeds on Abandoned MemoryThis photo series was taken in 2025 in an abandoned building of a vocational secondary school in a small village in northern Bulgaria, specifically in a former classroom for Bulgarian language and literature. The photos feature portraits of some of the most significant Bulgarian writers and poets from the 20th Century. At the same time, the final one is a reproduction of a painting showing Saints Cyril and Methodius, the creators of the Cyrillic script. The portraits that once hung on the classroom walls now lie in cabinets and on desks, left to the mercy of time. Today, the classroom and the whole symbology of an enlightenment appear empty, long forgotten, but is it truly devoid of life? Is there anything left to uncover or restore?
Additional words to accompany this series may come at any time, by anyone, if they are needed at all. Everything depends on time’s hunger for memory.
