Sometimes, art demands small "crimes." For instance, stepping onto the manicured lawns alongside Lake Geneva to capture "L'adolescent et le cheval." This sculpture by Heinz Schwarz is a haunting blend of classicism and surrealism. It feels as if the horse emerged from an Anish Kapoor mirror, contrasting sharply with the boy's classical proportions. The tension is almost palpable. Regardless of the artist's original intent, my mind immediately went to a story of taming; perhaps that's what the artist intended, too. Who knows? That's why I've chosen the caption: "Run no More."
Original sculpture: The Young Boy and the Horse, 1976 by Heinz Schwarz (1920 -1994), Location: Geneva, Switzerland
